Academic Lab Reservation System – Faculty would like to view the lab schedule for an entire semester, rather than being able to only see the current week.
Distance Learning Support -Greater coordination with remote sites and on-campus departments for all distance education classes is required to ensure timely and effective support in this area.
Enhancing our web presence – Classroom Technologies web sites are out-of-date and need to be updated to reflect changes in facilities and staffing. A website also needs to be created for Arlington Classroom Support.
Equipment Requests and Reservations – Currently, all Classroom Technologies units utilize separate and unique resource request and reservation systems, not all of which are electronic. The development of an online request system for all Classroom Technologies units would better serve our customers. The development of an online equipment and facilities reservation system for staff usage would streamline resource scheduling across units.
Event Support Policy – Currently, each unit within Classroom Technologies is supporting events using different policies, procedures and fee structures. A cohesive event support policy fee structure needs to be developed to streamline this process for customers and staff alike.
Prince William and Arlington Support – The PC and Mac rebuild procedures are not standardized in all the labs.
Service Level Agreements – We need to continue to establish Service Level Agreements with departments requesting and/or receiving specialized services from CT units. Currently, units within Classroom Technologies are providing support-intensive services without agreements in place. This can cause confusion and over-extension of resources.
Training – With the expected deployment of Office XP in the coming Fall semester and the possible deployment of Windows XP after that, additional training will be required. Additionally, there is a need to improve the technical training provided to Classroom Technologies wage personnel.
