Mission Statement

 

Technology Services Coordination’s mission is to bring together all parties (client and ITU) involved with complex department relocations and major University events and provide thorough and complete technology coordination to the clients’ satisfaction.

Evaluation of Unit Performance

 

Technology Services Coordination is a new area to Client Services this year.  Changes are underway in an effort to streamline the “paper trail” and to improve upon the thoroughness and completeness of each move and event.  To that end, the introduction of DocuShare as the primary document storage, retrieval, and collaboration tool has been successful.

 

 

Accomplishments:

 

All technology moves and events coordinated through this committee make extensive use of DocuShare as the sole means for collecting, storing, updating and collaborating technical information required of each move.  This has eliminated past issues of people working from outdated spreadsheet data, and ensures all involved parties work with the most current information available.

 

All department technology representatives are given accounts on DocuShare, and provided with training materials on the use of the product.

Areas for Improvement:

 

Communication between the Technology Services Coordination Committee should continue to improve as processes are streamlined.

 

Involvement with the Johnson Center Operations Committee and Events Management should ensure early notice when technology is required for events.

Short Term Goals:

 

Develop a Technology Services Coordination web page with links to related web forms.

 

Make DocuShare training materials available on the web.
